CPEC in 2nd Phase

In the 2nd phase of multibillion pak china CPEC ,an economic corridor of vital importance,the focus will now be on industrialisation and agriculture, said Pakistan's sources.

China under its Belt and Road initiative has pledged 60 billion dollars for the development of infrastructure,which will pave the way for accessible land and sea routes besdides the progress and development of Underdeveloped Balochistan province.

“CPEC had entered its second phase with vigorous focus on industrialization, agriculture and socio-economic development,” Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood said, as quoted in a statement by the Foreign Office.
“In the first phase of CPEC, we have made major advancement in the domain of energy and infrastructure,” he said during Thursday’s meeting of CPEC Joint Working Group in Urumqi, China.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mahmood and China’s deputy foreign minister, Luo Zhaohui.
The foreign secretary was optimistic and said this phase will rujenate pakistan's process of industrialization as economic zones will also be established  and this will spur economic development.
CPEC isindispensable for the economic development and survival and there is comete consensus on it. He further expressed that both Islamabad and Beijing would welcome third party participation in this “fiscally responsible project.”

Gwadar port,  crown jewel of CPEC and the plan is to turn the port city into a trans-shipment hub and megaport to be built alongside special economic zones from which export-focused industries will ship goods worldwide. A web of energy pipelines, roads and rail links will connect Gwadar to China’s western regions.

It is worthmentioning that CPEC is such giant development project with which development of the two countries and the whole region is linked ,but it is not viewed favourably by some regional and international stakeholders for their own selfish interests .In their pursuit various conspiracies are hatched .Still the project is progressing and security forces are safegaurding it.
