Engineer Munir al-Jundi, who designed the Kaaba door, has died

Munir al-Jundi, the engineer who designed the Baitullah gate during the reign of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the fourth ruler of Saudi Arabia, died in Germany.
Shah Khalid had offered prayers inside the Baitullah in 1397 AH, after which he instructed to make the door of the Baitullah made of pure gold.

Munir al-Jundi, an engineer from Syria, was chosen to design the gate. Al-Jundi was born in the Syrian city of Homs.
The gate was designed in the factory of Sheikh Mahmud bin Badr, a great goldsmith in Makkah.
The founder of the kingdom, King Abdulaziz Al Saud, also entrusted the Al-Badr dynasty with the task of preparing the gates of Baitullah.

The gate of Baitullah was made in 1398 AH and 280 kg of pure gold was used in it.
Engineer Munir Al-Jundi's name was written on the door of Baitullah because he designed it.
Saudi Arabia wanted a Muslim figure to design the door of the Baitullah because his name was to be written on the door.

Historian Mansoor al-Assaf said in a tweet that the door was designed by engineer Munir al-Jundi. The door was painted by Sheikh Abdul Rahim Al-Bukhari.

The door is 3 meters high and 2 meters wide. It is about half a meter deep. The door has two doors.
The door frame is made of Macca Mong wood, which is made in Thailand. It's the most expensive wood in the world. "
